Ive been having lots of problems with my march 2024 ID7 pro (software 4.0) Started with the hands free door opening not working, then even the doors would only open using the manual method. Then the app wouldnt let me pre heat the car, just gave message "12volt battery low". Now Im getting a warning in the car saying "12v supply restricted, drive careful" and if the heated steering wheel and heated seats are turned on a message says some comfort items not available and they dont work.
I saw a utube video by a chap called profile name "battery life" --,VW ID7 owners opinion after 11 months-- and he had the same problem which required a software update from 4.0 to 4.01 and a new 12volt battery.
Im booked in next week ( after waiting 6 weeks) at the vw dealer to have the faults checked.
Just wondered if anyone on this forum has had similar problems.....and did they get it sorted.

Have you looked on other ID forums? There are a lot more ID.3 &ID.4 about and as they share the same platform would show the same issue if it was a common fault.

Update on my id7 problems.
Dealer checked the car today , after waiting weeks for an appointment, but they found the 12volt battery was faulty , not holding charge, even though the car is only 7 months old !! and that was causing all my problems . They fitted a new battery and up to now everything works perfectly. Im so very pleased, but must admit ill be even more pleased if its still all ok in a weeks time.

Hi David. I haven't posted enough yet to reply to your PM. I had the above errors for a few minutes a month ago and having read a few posts about 12v battery issues I booked it in for an inspection. The diagnostic for the 12v battery and wiring were clear and there were no dealer software updates pending.

Hi 49cnn,
Yes I had the same 12 volt message you show in photo, plus other 12v related messages on and off every other day over the couple months I was waiting for the dealer to check it out along with various things not working, eg heated seats, keyless entry, ect. They replaced the 12v battery and since then its 99% better, just once or twice keyless entry not worked and the odd time its said no internet available. Im not convinced its fixed yet, so will see how it goes for the next few weeks. Ive read a few posts on 12v issues but on ID3 and 4 cars , not really heard much on ID7 so I thought VW had solved all the issues but im not so sure now. Mine is software 4.0 and they say no update available for it.
